It’s time once again for probably the biggest game in history of football – El Classico between Barcelona and Real Madrid. These two Spanish giants will face each other at the Camp Nou on Sunday. Here are our soccer predictions online.
Barcelona didn’t have the best start of the season again, but they won two of their last two games which helped them climb to 7th place in the standings. Right now the Catalans have 15 points won from 8 matches played which puts them five points behind the leader Real Sociedad. Clearly nothing’s over for the Catalans just yet – they have enough time to regroup and show their qualities, moving closer to top. The El Classico is a great opportunity for this. It would be Ronald Koeman’s first win against Madrid since he joined Barca as a coach.
Last weekend Barcelona achieved their 4th win for the season in La Liga. Los Cules hosted Valencia and conceded early, but managed to turn the game around and won by 3-1. Ansu Fati equalised with a beautiful goal out of the box while Memphis Depay and Philippe Coutinho finished the job. We should say that Barclelona played well which gives the fans some fresh hope before facing Real Madrid.
The return of Ansu Fati is making Barcelona a different team. The young striker already scored twice since he’s playing again after a horrendous injury. There’s a reason why he took the number 10 shirt from Lionel Messi – Fati is the next big thing in Barcelona’s dressing room and he’s already proving it on the pitch. The youngster brings a lot of energy and creativity on the pitch which is something Barca lacked in his absence. He’s also a natural goalscorer which means that Los Cules now have a very dangerous weapon on the pitch. Ansu needs just one thing right now – to remain healthy. Everything else looks easy for him, he’s just a marvelous talent.
Gavi is another young player who’s turning out to be very important for Barcelona. He recently made his debut for the national team and he never stops to amaze everybody. Just 17-years old, Gavi is now a starter at the Camp Nou and he’s doing a fantastic job. His qualities look similar to legendary players like Xavi and he could be an important player in future. The manager Ronald Koeman also deserve praise for his eagerness to trust the young players – not all coaches are like this.
Another thing that made fans happy is the debut of Sergio Aguero. The legendary Argentine striker finally played for a first time for the Catalans. He arrived from Manchester City in the summer, but needed few months to recover from his latest injury. We can say that Camp Nou greeted him really well against Los Che. It remains to be seen how Koeman will use him in the Classico.
Pedri is a player who will miss the game against Madrid. The influential midfielder is recovering from an injury, so he not available for the big match.
Real Madrid are very close to the top right now. Los Blancos are second in the standings with 17 points which puts them three points behind the leader Real Sociedad. Here’s an important detail, though – Madrid has a game in hand compared to the Basques.
Carlo Ancelotti’s team will try to recover after suffering their first defeat in the league before the international break. Los Blancos faced Espanyol in Barcelona, but the game didn’t go very well for them as they lost by 1-2. Karim Benzema scored his mandatory goal for the visitors, but at the end Los Pericos won this one.
During the week Real Madrid showed their best levels once again. The team faced Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League and achieved a terrific 5-0 win on Ukrainian soil. Shakhtar’s Kryvtsov opened the score with an own goal while Vinicius Jr. scored a brace and reminded us of his talents. Rodrygo and Karim Benzema finished the job for the Spaniards. It was a masterclass performance by Real Madrid as they didn’t leave any chances to Shakhtar to show their qualities. We can say it was a demonstration of power before the El Classico on Sunday.
Carlo Ancelotti made some interesting decisions we should talk about. Firstly, he showed us that he still believes the midfield trio of Luka Modric, Casemiro and Toni Kroos is good enough to compete on the highest levels. These three Real Madrid legends started against Shakhtar and bossed the midfield without any problems. Ancelotti also picked Rodrygo to partner Benzema and Vinicius in attack. Eden Hazard was not available because of injury, so he could miss the game against Barca as well. The fans are not so worried about this, though – Hazard never showed what’s expected of him since he joined Real Madrid. Players like Rodrygo and Marco Asensio are probably a better choice than him at the moment. Most likely one of them will start against Barcelona on Sunday.
One of the best news against Shakhtar was the return of Ferland Mendy. The French left-back finally played again after a long absence. This allowed Ancelotti to use David Alaba alongside Eder Militao in the heart of the defense. So far Alaba was covering the left flank because of the absence of Mendy and Marcelo. Now the manager can use him as a centre-back as well – it’s nice to have different option.
Some players remain on the Real Madrid’s injury list, though. Marcelo, Dani Carvajal, Dani Ceballos and Gareth Bale cannot be used at the moment.
That’s the soccer predictions online for the La Liga Classico between Barcelona and Real Madrid. These two teams are always having the same goal when approaching this game – to win. Nothing else is never acceptable. It seems that Real Madrid had a better start of the season, but Barca showed some muscle against Valencia in the previous round. But Madrid’s performance against Shakhtar was impressive as well. We have reasons to expect a terrific match here.
